The role
The role of Host Family Placement Coordinator is to carry out a wide range of tasks and provide high level operational and administrative tasks to ensure the successful recruitment of host families. A 2 week induction and training program will be provided.
Key Tasks:
• Contacting current and previous host families to see if they are willing to host incoming exchange students or those currently on program.
• Preparing student profiles to be posted on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc) to source new host families.
• Maintain a group Facebook page as a source of leads for future host families.
• Placing posts or ads on social media,
• Following up any leads that may come through our CRM.
• Making telephone calls to families who have expressed interest in hosting.
• Answer questions and provide general information about hosting an exchange student.
• Data entry of new host families into our CRM.
• Ensure our CRM is kept up to date with accurate information.
• Making a preliminary assessment as to the suitability of prospective host families.
• Liaise with Program staff and Local Coordinators to find new host families for students that need to be moved or in emergency cases
• Maintain contact with previous families to maintain good relationships and as a source of future host families.
• Informing new families of Working with Children check requirements and providing links to assist the application process.
• Providing placement status reports as required
• Liaise with the Admissions team on new applications.
• Liaising with the Admissions team on school grades, medial requirements and allergies to determine suitability.
• Operate in accordance with the Child Safety and Quality Management Policy and in compliance with legislation, regulations, and conditions.

The role
Local Coordinators are one of the most important pieces of our company and allows us to provide quality placements and support for our high school students Across Australia & New Zealand. The Local Coordinator, with the support of their Regional Manager, is the “go to” person for the students while they are here to help them adjust to their new life on exchange.
Key Tasks:
• Finding, interviewing, and screening host families for students coming into their local community. Host families receive a monthly stipend.
• Provide support for students and host families during the school year so that everyone enjoys their experience.
• Student Exchange Australia New Zealand supplies training for all Local Coordinators and each Local Coordinator will have a Manager to provide continued training and support.
This job is a casual and voluntary work from home position and perfect for someone looking to earn some additional income while interacting with students from other cultures. Pay is commission based per student placed.
Skills needed:
• Experience working with people, teenagers in particular.
• Ability to network within their community to recruit host families.
• Creativity and persistence.
• Ability to remain neutral in problem solving situations.
• Social media skills (Facebook) a plus.
