Scottsdale Unified School District has what is considered one of the best high schools in the state—five of which accept international study abroad students. Offering the prestigious International Baccalaureate and STEM programs, these outstanding public high schools are focused on academic excellence, as well as making sure international students have a positive American experience.

Promoting growth and teamwork through sports, high schools in the district have won a total of five state sports championships in the last two years. Expanding students’ creatively is very important and is demonstrated by the District schools’ Culinary Arts, Advertising Art, and award-winning Visual and Performing Arts programs.

School Profile

Buena High School is the only secondary school in the Sierra Vista Unified School District. Its special programs include a comprehensive core curriculum with Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, Dual Enrolment in local community college, Junior ROTC, and resource programs to ensure every student is successful.

Buena High School has outstanding facilities including a professional level Performing Arts Centre with seating for over 1,300 people. Their new Alternative Learning Centre is designed to create a college library environment with its own faculty, classrooms, computers, labs and meeting space.
