District Profile
Provo City School District is located in the western state of Utah. The district educates students in one of two coeducational four year public high schools: Provo High School and Timpview High School. Both schools have strong academics with solid extracurricular offerings.
Facilities
The school campuses include science labs, media centres, sports field, and more. Provo High School is located directly across the street from Brigham Young University. SPORTS AND ARTS Both schools offer championship sports programs with students competing in Football, Track and Field and more. In addition, their extensive arts programs gives student’s unique opportunities to grow such as Ballroom Dancing in which Provo High School students have won 9 state titles.
Awards and Accomplishments
Timpview received awards for America’s Best High Schools, 11 of its students were National Merit Semifinalists and the students took first in the Skills USA Competition in Mathematics. Timpview was named “America’s Most Challenging School” by the Washington Post. Provo High School is the oldest secondary school in the city of Provo and was the first in the county to become an “IB World School.”
Community Information
Provo is the third biggest city in the state of Utah. The Provo Recreation Centre is a state-of-the-art recreational facility that offers multiple pools, rock climbing walls, and a skate park. A friendly and welcoming town, it was voted the third best city in America for families.
