Do you want to unlock your creativity and help others? We are seeking passionate students, educators & people who aim to make a positive change in the world!

We are granting two Student Exchange Australia New Zealand or Educatius global network students or alumni, accompanied by one teacher, one local coordinator or host family member, the amazing opportunity to participate in a two-week creativity internship in the Gambia mid-June 2025.

With Aiducatius Internship, you will engage with the students and teachers in St. Martin’s School in Kartong, via creative and artistic activities. You also get to visit the opportunity visit artisans, learn local creative techniques, and immerse yourself in a vibrant and welcoming culture. You’ll get a chance to explore the surrounding area too!

Who can apply and how?
  • Be available for the 2-week internship June 15 – 30, 2025.

  • Be a student, alumni, teacher, Local Coordinator or host family member with with Student Exchange Australia New Zealand or the Educatius global network.

  • Be aged 18 – 23 at the time of the internship if you are a student.

  • Be ready to live in a rustic environment.

  • Be ready to share your creative skills with students in the Gambia in a classroom setting and learn from the children.

  • Submit an application and convince us why you should be chosen and what kinds of activities you would prepare

  • Share on social media why you should be chosen #aiducatiusinternship

  • Apply until February 28, 2025.

  • The chosen winners will be contacted and announced on social media in late March, 2025.

A heartwarming adventure


The winning Aiducatius Internship includes:

International airfares and local transportation

Airfare to and from Australia or New Zealand to The Gambia and transportation to the local community.

Accommodation and meals

Two weeks in local (rustic) accommodation and meals. Some local sightseeing too.

Health insurance and guidance on visa and mandatory vaccinations.

About The Gambia

The Gambia, in West Africa, has a population of 1.5 million comprising of diverse ethnic groups speaking various local languages, as well as English, French, and Arabic. The country is known as ”the Smiling Coast of Africa”.
Kartong is a rural village, far from tourist centers but full of welcoming and friendly people.

Today, The Gambia is witnessing a growing interest in and support for young artists, fueled by tourism and international development aid. Aiducatius has supported thousands of young students in Kartong since 2009 to advance their education and gain new future prospects.
