Jessica Wilson - NSW to Italy - Short reflection on my exchange
Mon 01 Mar 2010
Jessica Wilson, from Elanora Heights went to Italy on exchange last year. She wrote this reflection on her exchange and how it helped her in her school exams.
Hi,
I had an Italian exam only 5 days after coming home and I thought you would like to know that topped my class with 80%!
Since coming home, I have kept in touch with Anna and some of my other friends via skype, email and facebook, which has been really good for me to keep practicing and using my Italian.
I had an amazing experience with my host family, who gave me every possibly opportunity to learn and experience Italy. I believe that any other exchange student would be lucky to be paired with the Matellons, should they choose to host again.
My school experience at Uccellis was, in so many ways, different to what I was used to here in Australia. I did have quite a bit of trouble understanding and following classes during the first month or so, but by October, I felt much more confident, and was able to complete homework and engage in classes. In class as my teachers were extremely welcoming and patient as I learnt, and I am so grateful for an enjoyable school experience whilst on exchange.
Kind Regards,
Jess
