News & Updates » News » Host Family Lunch in QLD
This photo was taken in January 2010 at Maroochy River, Sunshine Coast, at a host family / international student picnic which I organised during the last week of the school holidays.
This picture is of Jana with her host parents Gary and Julie Walker from Imbil. Four German students and their host families had a relaxing social time together, including the opportunity for some of us to enjoy an exhilarating fun experience jet skiing on Maroochy River.
My role as International Co-ordinator and Community Co-ordinator for Jana and three other German students this Semester has been very rewarding. The students settled in easily to their studies and homestay life and I commend them on their fine attributes and their involvement in many co-curricular activities at their host schools.
A special thank you to wonderful host families for your generosity of spirit in supporting the exchange program, and the kindness and affection you extend to your students. Each student has their own special memories of the time spent with their host families which they will treasure for many years to come.
