With its gorgeous landscapes, cosmopolitan cities and lively culture, Argentina is a traveler’s paradise. It stretches almost 3500km from Bolivia to the tip of South America, encompasses a wide array of geography and climates, and is almost the size of India. Argentina is safe, friendly and – compared to Europe or the US – very affordable. Argentina is well-known for its natural scenery, modern cities and fashion but also for tradition and hospitality. It is an ideal destination for exchange.
"The most rewarding part? Finishing the exchange able to speak another language, having met new people and making friends, and experiencing a whole new and different culture." Katelin Reeves - Year program to Argentina

The exchange experience is not possible without volunteer host families. Host families welcome their host son or daughter into their family life - with all the rights, responsibilities, privileges and obligations of other family members and could live just about anywhere in Argentina.
School runs from mid-March to early December, with a 2 week winter vacation in July. Students have a fixed subject curriculum until year 9 and, from year 10, have 3 streams of specialisation to choose from. Students wear uniforms and attend school Monday to Friday usually from 7.30am till 2pm. School days always start with a ritual around the national flag where students have to remain silent around the flag or sing the national anthem.
You must be between the ages of 15 and 18 and be enrolled at school when applying. Exceptions may be made for 14 and a half year olds. You can apply for a Gap Year but cannot be older than 18 and a half at the end of your program.
There are no formal language requirements for Argentina. All students are strongly encouraged to work at the language of their host country before departure as this will help them to adjust, settle in, learn, grow and participate.
Student Exchange Australia New Zealand Ltd places the safety and wellbeing of our exchange students as its highest priority. We maintain and continually improve a Quality Management System that complies with the requirements of the International Standard ISO 9001:2008. Read more
